The inequitable availability of quality water in a populated country like India is a big obstacle in improving the Quality of Life of citizens. By undertaking various initiatives, the Government of India has demonstrated its commitment to provide quality water to every citizen. Supporting the policymakers Hitachi Water Environment Solutions is leveraging group's OT x IT-driven globally acknowledged sustainable water solutions that will optimize water distribution and usage while empowering the citizens even in the arid parts of the country.

In India nearly a billion people live in areas that are hard pressed for safe water of which more than 600 million dwell in areas of extreme water scarcity.(1) The urgency for an innovative and sustainable water management solution in the country is evident from the magnitude of the challenge of optimally distributing only 4% of the world's fresh water resources to the world's second largest population.

Hitachi Water Environment Solutions with a globally proven track record of enhancing future of water is leveraging its OT x IT efficiency to meet the government's vision of providing piped drinking water to rural households by 2024.

Our efficient IoT enabled Water Environment Solutions incorporate advanced Water Treatment System, Pipe Network Management System and Water Distribution Control System. Together, they not only optimize the use of available water but help recycle waste water and minimize misapplication, power usage while optimizing utilization along with distribution of this scarce natural resource.
