Core Sector Wise Transformation Journey

Urban Transport & Indian Railway

Indian Railway, the world’s fourth-largest railway network2, is witnessing dynamic growth with extraordinary advancements in passenger and freight transportation, driven by the mission to be the engine for India’s economic growth by being sustainable, environment-friendly, and caring for its commuters and freight customers.

Digitisation of rail operations, implementation of the latest technologies, and ambitious projects like Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFCs) are all set to usher in an eco-friendly rail transport system while reducing logistics costs and supporting the Make-in-India initiative. This aligns with the government’s goal of achieving 100% rail electrification by December 2023 and making Indian Railway a net-zero carbon emitter by 2030.2

Hitachi’s partnership with Indian Railway is paving the way for rapid transformation of India’s transport ecosystem. Leveraging its global mobility experience, Hitachi is deploying state-of-the-art, energy-efficient, and trusted Railway Systems solutions for urban cities, nationwide mainline railway, and High Speed railway between key economic & cultural centres in India to make sustainable mobility a reality. Green Energy

Urban infrastructure needs to grow fast to keep pace with the demands of a growing population. Digital India and Make in India initiatives are moving the Indian agrarian economy into an IT-based industrial and commercial one. India needs a healthy sustainable urban infrastructure that promotes green living.
