Advanced Finger Vein Authentication Technology Opens Doors for You

Personal identification is critical to preventing suspicious persons from entering a premise.

Hitachi has developed an exciting, new authentication system that can verify your identity with the placement of your hand. This walkthrough-style, finger vein authentication technology can be used at sport stadiums, convention centers and any other facility where large crowds gather. This system is more advanced than current biometric methods like fingerprinting and facial recognition: you place your fingers on a scanner as you walk through a gate and your identity is verified. Other technologies require people to stand still for accurate recognition, which takes time for large groups trying to access a venue. This new system is very user-friendly as it enables the instantaneous detection and matching of finger vein patterns, even if the number of fingers, position or orientation changes.
