Hitachi’s Role in Shaping a Greener Future

At the forefront of addressing global challenges through technological innovation, Hitachi has embarked on a mission to drive sustainability and shape a greener future for generations to come. As the urgency of climate change becomes increasingly apparent, Hitachi is committed to drive sustainability and forge a path toward environmental stewardship and social responsibility.

In line with this commitment, Hitachi collaborates across public and private sectors to advance sustainable practices and reduce carbon footprints. With Pattern Energy, Hitachi Energy is expanding renewable energy access in western states through the SunZia Transmission Project. HVDC Light® technology connects wind farms and power grids over vast distances, benefiting millions.

Supporting the clean energy shift, Hitachi is also playing a pivotal role in supporting sustainable transportation. In Quebec City, Hitachi Energy deployed a centralized, electric bus charging system for RTC, the public transit agency in the greater area. JR Automation, a Hitachi Group company, and Lion Electric co-created an automated production line to mass-produce batteries for electric school buses in Canada. In Honolulu, Hitachi Rail has constructed the first autonomous train in the United States, projected to remove 40,000 cars from the road daily and support the island’s energy goals.

By collaborating across industries and working closely with diverse partners, learn how Hitachi meets today’s business objectives while safeguarding the environment.
